How to install mods in skyrim
well here I'll give you the basis for how to install mods on your game Elder Scrolls Skyrim, I will show that the structure meets most of the mods, about 80%
1 - mods usually come in zip format, and I use a program called Winrar to unzip them.
(If you do not have Winrar or a similar program, you must download one.)
This example will show how to install the Midas Magic spell mod.
2 - With Winrar installed, open the mod file. A new screen will open displaying the contents of the mod. ( see the image)
select the content and click to "extract to" from the top menu. Select a location to extract the mod and click ok.
3 - With the files extracted, look at the contents of the folder
Within the folder there are three folders;
meshes folder = are 3D models
textures folder = The name itself explains
esp file (with name of mod) = is what activates the mod, adds new elements to the game.
This is the very basic structure of most mods, all these folders should be copied and pasted into the folder "data"
which is usually found here :
C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ skyrim \ data
if you installed in another directory just fine find the skyrim \ data
4- Also you can
Because the file already came within a folder called "data" just copy and paste it to;
C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam \ SteamApps \ common \ skyrim
when prompted that the folder already exists and asks you to merge your content choose "yes"
5 – Now open your skyrim and choose "data files"
6- If you did everything correctly you will see this window and NameOfMod.esp in the list(MidasSkyrim.esp). Now just check the box and play your mod!
when no file.esp is there, simply put the textures and meshes folders, in:
Skyrim / data
and the mod is already installed!
Note: Not all mods install the same! So make sure you read the "READ-ME" file!!!!
